The experience of the architectural space is compressed to a human
scale in MARTaFON. On the inside walls of a British-style telephone box
in the centre of Herford is a panoramic painting of Marta Herford's
interior. The space created by Frank Gehry to contain and perceive
art is displaced and becomes palpable and personal. This image
reconsiders its own representation on the nature of vision and the
non-space in between. The careful design of art and religious
architecture creates public and personal spaces of reflection and
enlightment. Museums are secular places for contemporary enlightment. What does space creates in our minds? What is inside the space between architecture and our body? MARTaFON is part of the Leere X Vision-Connexions Exhibition organized by MARTa museum curated by Maïté Vissault. |
